Weighted Blankets are an effective and drug-free aid in helping to calm the mind and relax those living with Alzheimer's, Autism (ASD), Anxiety Disorders (ADD / ADHD / PTSD), Tourette's syndrome (GTS), Restless Leg Syndrome, Menopause and more. By covering the body for sleep, wrapping shoulders while sitting or by laying the blanket across laps or legs, weighted blankets apply comforting pressure where it's most beneficial. Our super-soft, 100% cotton-fabric weighted blankets are a unique combination that can provide relief, comfort and can help supplement sensory disorder therapy treatments. Weighted blankets are ideal for the following conditions:

MindCare's Exclusive 100% Cotton Weighted Blankets

The popularity of weighted blankets has flooded the market with inferior quality and mass produced knock-offs. MindCare's Premium Cotton Weighted Blankets were designed not only to aid those living with anxiety - but to be a beautiful and comforting aid that coordinates with the home, is special to the user and will last for years. Our Premium Cotton Weighted Blankets are made by hand(s), made to order and are constructed of durable and pajama-soft cotton fabrics. Even though our blankets can keep you warm, they are smaller and meant to be used on different parts of the body. Lay them on your chest, hips, legs or back. Control your temperature by keeping arms or legs exposed - or combine with your favorite throw for warmth!

Weighted Blankets for Alzheimer's, dementia and brain related conditions

Most common in people over 65 years old, dementia can cause mood swings, confusion and stress. Caregivers can use weight therapy to help the sufferer feel comfortable and secure while sleeping, sitting or in periods of confusion or stress.

Giving a patient a weighted blanket provides comfort through the naturally pleasant feeling of being held. Many have described the added weight of our blanket as the feeling of a hug. Being able to give your loved one a “hug,” even if you aren’t there physically, will help relax and calm during housing transitions, medical checkups or before sleep.

As dementia progresses, insomnia can often become an issue. Sleeping for one or two hours during the night, then awakening only to wander is a common experience. Medications can also cause sleep disturbances for the ill.

The sleep-inducing qualities of a weighted blanket is enough to give deep pressure touch stimulation without being too heavy to remove on their own. Weighted blankets may assist with a full night’s rest for the individual and peace of mind for caregivers and family members alike.

"Data obtained on effectiveness reveal 33% demonstrated lowering in EDA when using the weighted blanket, 63% reported lower anxiety after use, and 78% preferred the weighted blanket as a calming modality." -

Instructional Information

How to pick the right weighted blanket?

A rule of thumb is to select a weighted blanket that is approximately 10% of the body weight of the user. Since many users prefer to have the blanket only over certain parts of the body at a time, we have kept them at a smaller scale so that the benefits of the weight are concentrated on the desired area.

Blanket Weight Dimensions (in) Weight of User
5 lbs 40 x 30 40 to 50 lbs
10 lbs 40 x 34 70 to 110 lbs
15 lbs 40 x 60 110 to 175+ lbs

Our Premium Cotton weighted blankets are made by hand(s) in the USA from incredibly soft and durable cotton fabrics. They are breathable, soft and cool to the touch, and will remind you of your favorite pajamas. Each blanket is filled with millions of eco-friendly beads that equally distribute the weight. Unlike a "heavy" blanket, weighted therapy blankets are not meant just for warmth, but are designed to apply consistent pressure to the body - and they can be used in addition to other throws or comforters for warmth or for sleeping.

MindCare has selected a wide range of styles and color combinations for men, women and children who can all benefit from the comfort of a weighted blanket!

How to wash your weighted blanket?

Due to the weight of weighted blankets we always recommend hand-washing and line-drying. If you would like to wash your weighted blanket in a machine, use the gentle setting, cold water and dry on low. We do not recommend spin cycles as the machine may become unbalanced. Please monitor your machine closely if you decide to use it.

What are our weighted blankets filled with?

Millions and millions of glass beads. Why glass? The glass bead is heavier per square inch than poly pellets, so less raw material is required to attain the same weight. Glass beads also make less sound when moved around - this helps those who need sensory products that do not cause noise agitation. All of our Premium MindCare weighted blankets, wraps, and lap pads are now made from safe, natural, eco-friendly glass beads! Our glass beads are Made in the USA and were selected for insured quality and to help promote domestic business!
