The Freedom GPS Locator Watch by Lok8u is a digital watch that does not feel or look any different than a typical sport watch. It is worn as a normal wrist watch but has a lock feature that once it is on, can only be removed by using the tool provided. This ensures that your loved one always has their freedom!
While the watch is within RF range of the mobile RF Receiver, kept by the caregiver, the watch is in proximity. The portable receiver allows mobile safe zone while at the park, store, doctor's office, etc.. If the watch and receiver become separated or out of proximity, an alarm sounds on the RF Receiver and the watch connects to the GSM network and sends its position to the caregiver by email and SMS text message. When the watch and receiver are back in proximity, the GSM is disabled on the watch. While out of proximity, the watch will respond to "wru" and "live track" requests.
A Lok8u secure Customer Portal is available on the internet and will be accessible worldwide from any PC. Each user will have a user name and password and will have the ability to request and display the person's location as an icon on Google maps with street address and postal code. The secure web portal is accessible at home from any computer or mobile phone.
A wandering event or panic button alert will give rise to the generation of an email alert and/or SMS text message giving the date and location of the event. The portable receiver will also sound an audible alert and the LCD display will flash red indicating that there is an active alert.
