Automatic Oven Control by CookStop
It's no surprise that as people grow older they want to continue living in their own homes. Aging tends to have an impact on one’s ability to perform simple activities of daily living. Gradual degradation in hearing, sight, smell, and the perception of time affect independent living.
CookStop can help prevent unattended cooking fires and allow those with dementia to stay in their own homes, longer by continuously checking for movement in the kitchen. If the resident leaves the room or falls asleep the Cookstop shuts the stove off!
Our programmable stove control has two components: one plugs into the wall behind an electric stove, and the other fits beneath an adjacent cabinet or on the counter back splash, continuously monitoring activity in the kitchen. When no activity is detected, the CookStop senior-safety device begins the timer and then turns off the stove and the oven. (An “override” button is available when it’s safe to leave unattended pots on the stove or in the oven).
