Aromatherapy is based on the theory that essential oils, derived from plants, have beneficial properties for those with Alzheimer's, dementia, stroke, Autism or for seniors living at home or in a care facility.
Many types of aromatherapy can be used at home, but we recommend individual aromatherapy patches in a group setting or care facility. Essential oils have been used for generations to ease symptoms of depression, anxiety and insomnia and certain oils may have the potential to improve cognition in people with Alzheimer's disease. Research has specifically highlighted the potential benefits of the use of lemon oil to improve cognition and mood in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, and lavender oil to reduce occurrences of aggressive behavior in dementia.
Some caregivers are now using these trusted oils to ease anxiety, boost memory and improve the mood of loved ones living with dementia!
